Greenstone Wildlife Estate lies adjacent to the historically famous
town of Barberton - the Gem of the Lowveld. Like a radiant
pearl it is shelled in a huge crater at the foothills of the majestic
Makonjwa mountain range with stunning 360° views across the Barberton
valley towards Kaapsche Hoop and around. It forms part of the so-called
Route 38: Gateway to the Wild Frontier. Ancient greenstone
rocks dating back 3.5 billion years adorn the magnificent mountain land
scenery. These lofty mountains are often shrouded in mist and the tree
lined valleys are filled with crystal clear streams running through
indigenous forests.
