Val de Vie Winelands Lifestyle Estate, A new kind of development, a wine
estate with the emphasis on luxury living, a true country estate in the
grand tradition, a blend of contemporary French Provencal and Cape Colonial
architecture, a community with an appreciation of history and consideration
for the future, but with the emphasis on today.
Designed along the same line as the famous gardens of Versailles, Val
de Vie offers a feast for the eye in every direction. Broad avenues create
a sense of space as wel as a sense of place. Look down an avenue of trees
to the Gym, gaze in another direction and your eyes are drawn to the Polo
Pavilion, turn your head and the vineyards and winery come into view.
Here, in a state-of-the-art cellar alongside the old cellar, wines will
be produced from the estate's vines for sale and export; property owners
will enjoy a monthly wine quota and will also be able to produce their
own "boutique" wines for their personal enjoyment.

OWN A PIECE OF HERITAGE
This may be the last chance to invest in the sensitive, pristine Berg
River Valley - because major parts of this Valley is currently being proclaimed
as World Heritage Sites. Hardly surprising, considering the wealth of
agricultural, cultural and rural heritage that exists there. World Heritage
status will of course greatly enhance the exclusivity and value of any
privately owned property in the Valley and restrict any new developments.
There is simply no denying the historicity and character of the region
- with every gnarled vine and church bell having an ancient story to tell.
BECOME A WINEMAKER
The Val de Vie Winelands Lifestyle Estate lies on land that has been
producing its own wine since 1825. A feature at Val de Vie is the fully
operational historical cellar originally built in 1825. It would be sufficient,
surely, just to enjoy the ambience of life amongst the vineyards - but
at Val de Vie, property owners also experience something that until now
has been reserved only for the fortunate few, an opportunity to learn
the art of winemaking from Val de Vie's own winemaker and most magically
of all, under his guidance, to produce their very own boutique wines.
GRAFTED INTO A PROUD HERITAGE
Property owners will also receive a quota of Val de Vie's award-winning
wines for their private pleasure. A barrel sampling of our 2006 Shiraz
was awarded second price in the coveted Best-Red-Wine-on-Show category
at the RMB WineX 2006 in JHB, while our 2006 Viognier achieved third prize
in the Best-White-Wine-on-Show. It makes us immensely proud to announce
that, not only did our 2004 Shiraz receive a medal at the Michelangelo
International Wine Awards, but the 2004 Mourvèdre was awarded Double
Gold.
COUNTRY LIVING AT ITS FINEST
Val de Vie was designed with family activities in mind. You can enjoy
time with your family at the magnificent Polo Pavilion, the restaurants,
the fully equipped gym, tennis and squash courts or around the swimming
pool. Alternatively, you can pack a picnic, seek out a secluded spot and
wind down with a glass of wine amongst the vineyards, on the banks of
the Berg River, or on one of Val de Vie's four lakes - while the kids
canoe or try their hand at fishing. The Estate has 1.8km of Berg River
frontage with fresh mountain water feeding the lakes and vineyards thereby
attracting a chorus of fish, bird life and small mammals.
SAFETY CONSCIOUS
Security is high priority at Val de Vie and our high-tech aesthetically
pleasing boundary wall will be completed by the end of this year and this,
in addition to our integrated electronic security system on the Estate,
will ensure that there is no unmonitored entry at all times.
